Outage-prone areas
Several cuts a day, or long evening cuts, on an otherwise usable grid.
Work from home
A router, a laptop and a fan for the length of the cut. A small battery does it.
Medical and cold loads
Oxygen concentrators, vaccine fridges, a cold room at a dairy. These are sized with margin, not to a budget.
Shops that lose sales in a cut
Lights, billing counter, one air conditioner. Hybrid keeps the door open without a generator outside it.

Subsidy and storage incentives
Subsidy covers the panels, not the battery.
For homes, the rooftop capacity of a hybrid system goes through PM Surya Ghar like any on-grid plant; the battery and the hybrid inverter's extra cost sit outside it. We will name any storage incentive here once its terms are published.

Do I still get the PM Surya Ghar subsidy?
For a home, the rooftop solar capacity is filed as usual, with ALMM and DCR panels, and earns the same slab. The battery and the hybrid inverter's extra cost are outside the scheme.
How long will the battery run my home?
As long as the loads you named allow. A 5 kWh lithium bank runs lights, fans, a router and a television for an evening; it does not run two air conditioners. The survey turns your list into hours.
I already have on-grid solar. Can I add a battery?
Yes. Either replace the inverter with a hybrid one or add an AC-coupled battery unit beside it. We service plants we did not build, so the original installer does not matter.
Will I notice the changeover?
With a proper hybrid inverter, no. The house is islanded within a fraction of a second; computers and routers stay on.
Is lithium safe in Rajasthan heat?
Lithium iron phosphate, the chemistry we specify, is the stable one, and it still gets a shaded, ventilated spot away from the inverter. RMS watches its temperature along with everything else.
How much more than on-grid does it cost?
The battery and the hybrid inverter are the difference, and the battery is sized to your list, so the answer depends on what you need to keep running. Exact figures are quoted on WhatsApp from the current card.
